My boat is plumbed with pvc hose red and blue. All the joints have "jubilee" clips. The pvc gradually deforms and joints leak. Is there a better alternative. I was wondering about using more flexible tubing and automotive spring clips which always maintain tension. Are there Marine versions. Anyone got any alternative suggestions.

If you have the additional length in the pipe cut of the deformed bits and use one of the standard speedwell plumbing fittings Hepworth etc.

If your fittings aren't quite the right size for the pipe, and you're having to overtighten the clips, I could see that causing the deformation you describe.

As an alternative, Hep20 maybe? Not as flexible, but easy to fit and designed for mains water pressure.

What size jumble clips are you using.

I found that small size jubilee clips can distort the joint and not seal correctly.

I found this on fuel lines and I replace the jubilee clips with eye clips that sealed the pip better

Our hose failed on the hot water line in various places where it had become rigid at the jubilee clips. As suggested above, I just cut out the offending sections and replaced with like, thus increasing the number of joins by a decent number. Not my problem now.

Have the jubilee clips been overtightened, perhaps?

They need to be tight enough to firmly clamp the pipe against the fitting inside, but not so tight they destroy the structure of the pipe.
My hose is the usual blue and red hose for potable water, whatever it is made of. At the hot terminals the ‘rubber’ hose had gone as brittle as Bakelite, and no amount of tightening or otherwise would have helped.
