Inboard Engines...are they really THAT bad??

On our 1977 Moody, I generally run the engine an hour a week if we are not cruising. It started first time yesterday, sweet. Must be 40 0dd years old. British Leyland 1.5 litre.

Change the oil every 12 months too.

In my ownership, have had diesel bug (not the engines fault, picked it up in Cape Verdes), new heat exchanger, injectors tested infrequently, new various exhaust bits, refurbished sea water pump.

Good for another 40 I reckon, now its run in........
