Our is "Shard". In standard English, a piece of broken glass or pottery.
In the North of England it means low-lying.
In Lowland Scots, it seems that it is a lump of cow-dung.
"Buachaille" sounds fine to me but I'm pretty certain that there are already a few of them. Re "pronounced 'Bookul'", you might want to re-check the pronunciation though.

Hi, My mate John Boyces boat is named Sydney Sundancer and his tender is Sundance Kid, it even has a glass bottom for coral viewing!

We had to rename our last boat as the previous owners wanted to take the name to their new boat. We renamed her SNAFU - HWMBO felt it summed up our method of sailing. This caused plenty of guffaws when we called the CG. And we had the owner of a boatyard come across one day, plainly very worried - "Did you name the boat ?" he asked - and was mightily relieved when we said we had !
