The intention is for us to start entering races in 2024 and on ... first of all to get to know the boat - not to win !! But it needs boat to be 'measured' for handicap ....
In Latvia there are two :
Simpler, cheaper system : LYS
This of course limits the racing to basically the Nordic / Baltic States .....
and
ORC - the full system used internationally.
The boat will be assessed and decision made as to what system to go for ... we have no real intention of Ocean Races ... or too far afield .... so the LYS may suit us initially. The LYs already lists the Conqubin 38CR and appears to be 'seriously' assessed !
I knew already from past - but its a daunting job to lay out such sails as I have - to measure .... for those not in the 'know' the sails are measured at intervals along the hoist to determine the roach and set as well as the outer dimensions.
