Following on from my problems with a C Wind boat sounding off all night long, I turned to Thames Coastguard in desperation. Not wanting to clog up the airwaves I phoned them at twenty past four in the morning. The incessant allarm stopped shortly afterwards.
In the morning, there was someone on board the boat and I had a chance to speak with them. Seems Thames came up trupms. They contacted Dong Energy who run the windfarm. Dong put them onto the right people at C Wind and the skipper got a phone call at five in the morning. Just 40 minutes from call to Thames Cg to the right peson being on the phone. Goven they now work in Fareham, I am impressed.
As to the alarm, turns out there was an electrical fault. Not one that could cause a fire, but nethertheless still serious.. What made it particularly bas was that someone had stitched the alarm to sound through the claxon!..
The Skipper was very apologetic and charming. I gave him the number of the people I had phoned. I think he was going to "have words"...
