I have just tried to remove my NASA Clipper transducer from the oil filled tube after many years undisturbed. Being a snug fit a vacuum was formed which afte much tugging against the suction disembowled the transducer head. It is impossible to remove the remains from the tube so a complete refit with a new transducer is required.
I will be looking for a larger tube.
