Didnt realise how difficult the choices were going to be when downsizing the boat.
Having got used to the home comforts of a 38fter, I am desperately trying to restrain myself from piling stuff onto a 23fter...'an its painful.
Ive already got all the Nav sorted out with a new garmin plotter/sounder to feed the laptop and AIS and Navtex as well...but do you think Radar will look a bit silly on a 23ft??

Then we get to the domestics and this is where choices get very sticky.
Ive got a 700w genny to fit permanently (loads of space).
Bought a 16" 12V telly/DVD/USB/SD card all in one from asda very good price by the way...
Got a radio CD unit as well.
But she has no hot water so would you go to the trouble of fitting a calorifier or maybe a rinnai on gas like we had on Pegasus...then I could put a shower into the little bog maybe.

Obviously a big inverter will also be essential, possibly to run the toaster etc.
We'll be in danger of being back down to 10knots again with the weight.

So question is at what point do I have to see reality and stop?
I suppose we can always boil a kettle when we need a wash...
Will I get chucked off the forum like Pete??

Aint this bit between XMAS and NY Boring

Cheers For Now

AIS Transponder does not take up much space.... and plenty of 23 footers with Radars out there... otherwise you failed to mention VHF and a whopper Stereo and surround sound for the TV etc...

.... and have you got to use her yet?

Stuff

Hi Alf,

A very valid point about S/S for the telly. I can literally destroy me brains to Greenday or Hendrix in that tiny cabin. I'll do some calculations and see what the resonant frequency of the cabin is itself so I can choose the best subwoofer!!
No 'aint used her yet, mooring at Retreat wont start 'till march so still out back on the trailer for a couple of months.

Was hoping to inject a bit of sardonic humour into the forum but either peeps ent interested or dont know who Happy 1 was or whatever...all a bit serious round here innit.

Anyway chap how'd your festivities go?? Hope you had a good'un.

Any good with the stuff yet, or maybe not had time?

Best Regards

Always a bit quiet at Christmas and humour is always good ... and my response with S/S was intended in same spirit...

Just back from Norway, goth nephew with me as he's heading down to Edinburgh with us for Hogmaney.. so quite busy and as yet have not had time to play yet ... but will do so soon...

Radar look a bit silly????

Get that boat 'PIMPED' with as much electronics as you can, electronics may seem over the top, but then again these 'convienences' are essentially lifesaving equipment. Never put price or pride on your life. Hope u enjoy every inch of the 23 ft. Best of luck. Btw i have a sealine s25 pimped to the tits lmao.

Been here long enough (left Norway in 1990) so know how to celebrate with the Scotsmen and ladies...

... also hope you enjoy the flashing lights software I sent you ... still will look at the NMEA stuff as I promised...!!

G'day Alf and others

All the best for NY and Hogmaney (important time for Scots apparently)

Usually the younger family members will insist on a degree of 'pimp' to the electronics dept., all part of the fun.

We are enjoying the full blast of summer at the moment, so far the weather gods have been very kind.......:)

Ah Yes I can see it now....Blue underwater LED's on the bathing platform...Pink furry dice slung round the steaming light, steps down to the cabin illminated with rope lights and a nodding budgie, (we aint got a dog) on the transom...aah heaven.
