Imperial wharf

Plus there is a couple of boatyards, one below Teddington and one below Richmond which are pontoons in the stream but i dont know the names of them?

Missing part of the conversation is that it needs to have reasonable access to London by public transport up to about 40 minutes max, Teddington is over an hour by train. I didn't realise moorings were now so scarce. I guess I'll be trawling the Internet again tomorrow although still think I need to consider Brentford and Imperial Wharf. I'll be down there some evenings as a bolt hole and to use it as a base to explore the lower Thames and coast as well as head up on to the non tidal section which is why I thought the ones I've found would have been viable? Richmond is within range on the district line?

I thought it was longer than that? Thanks. I did a search on a web site earlier and it quoted an hour and nine minutes. I'll revisit that tomorrow! There would be an onward journey from Waterloo but its definately in the right area. Cheers.

Teddington lies at the centre of a loop line. You can take trains via Kingston or via Richmond (ie either way around the loop). Either way works out to around 38-40 minutes, but as you can go either way the frequency is very good.

You could also try:-

Francis at Hammerton's Ferry - 020 8892 9620
Mark at Eel Pie Boatyard - 020 8892 3626 - mid-river moorings
Alan at Lion Boathouse - 020 8891 1025 - mid-river moorings
Steve at Brentford Marina - 020 8568 5096 - but don't call him One-Arm

Which means you can go boozing, fall asleep on the train and wont have to worry about ending up in Falmouth..you do however go round in circles....

we have a few small boats and ribs here who suffer no damage at all from wash.....good fenders should always be used on the tidal thames, we are no where near as rough (water wise)..!!) as Cadogan pier.
