My impeller broke up and I'm struggling to find the remnants that are blocking the water flow. Cleared all the pipes from seacocks to the pump and from pump to engine. It's a volvo 2001.

Where are these pesky remnants most likely hiding?

Often at the input end of the heat exchanger. Think of all these wee tubes.

Is it raw water cooled or fresh water cooled via a heat exchanger?

If fresh water cooled , as other folk seem to assume, look in the inlet end of the HE as suggested and in the tubes

BUT if, as is more usual, it is raw water cooled the bits may be blocking the holes in the water distribution pipe in the cylinder head, the outlet to the exhaust elbow and the water passages in the engine

Are you getting no water flow at all ... none comjng out of the exhaust ? If so the broken impeller bits may be a red herring

It's raw after cooled. No heat exchanger. From seacocks to filter, and into the engine.

The pipe from the filter to the engine had a bit in it, as did the anti siphon valve. I guess I'll have to follow the water path and see. Might as welk take the thermostat out and check it while I'm at it.

It's odd, I ran it after cha ging the impeller and loads of water was exiting the exhaust. Tried it a couple of days later and it was all fine. Then last night no water again.
