Impeller Rotation

Went to change the impeller on my new to me old 1996 2 stroke 5hp Mariner and like a numpty forgot to note the direction of rotation.

Any kind soul help out ?

Can you not just pull the string or turn the propeller and see which way round the shaft goes?

Doesn't matter, the vanes will flip over.

The drive shaft rotates clockwise when viewed from above.
As JD says you can determine this by pulling the starter rope except I guess at this stage the lower unit is separated from the powerhead.

It is usually recommended that you try to fit them with the vanes curled in the correct direction but they will soon flip over if fitted the "wrong" way.
You've got to fit it one way or the other so might as well fit it the correct way
