Impeller for 4hp 2 stroke - please help with identification

Hi,
I bought 2 stroke Mercury for my pocket cruiser and there are no model indications. Could you please help me to identify the engine?

( and where made Japan, USA or Belgium ) ? ?

What year model was it sold to you as ?

Thats the problem - no model indication. I would say its late 80-ties due to cowl?

You don't have the swivel bracket and transom clamp bracket ? How will you mount the engine on the boat ?

You might be able to find a number on a core plug ( aka freeze plug) that turns out to be the serial number. OTOH it might not be

Sorry, I meant the tag - the bracket is naturally there.

Forget what model. Take out the old impeller and match it at a dealers, or on-line.

yes but exactly what and where depends on the model ( need to know the serial number!)

Probably an in line filter immediately before the fuel pump/carb

A remote tank may have a filter in the pickup inside the tank

If you don't see one, fit one anyway They are less than £5 and you can replace the pipe from the tap to the carb at the same time. They age as well.
