I'm out of here. Bye.

Re: I\'m out of here. Bye.

Just discovered what's been said in my name on this forum and if I knew how to retract messages I would .... also apologising to whoever it refers to. I changed the member name to no avail as that seems to have changed all through. My computer now has password protection and the perpetrator won't be posting on here again .... serves me right for leaving a list of websites and passwords by my computer! Didn't seem to matter with a forum site .. he's also left some rude stuff on the Motor Boat site as well .. I haven't found it yet. If it's any consolation the guy's a speedboat driver which I'm not surprised at. I didn't know the person misaligned but I suspect he's as enthusiastic about classic boats as I am!

Re: I\'m out of here. Bye.

I think you might be right. And it's interesting to note that seafly chose not to withdraw or apologise for his post, changing his user name to Piloti instead. What does that tell you about him?

Re: I\'m out of here. Bye.

No .... piloti changed the name - see above. I've been in Guernsey since last tuesday .. this scrote in the office has been using your forums .. he won't any more - I've password protected the computer!

Re: I\'m out of here. Bye.

I am far more concerned about the contemporary notion that “we” should be able to control what others do or think than I am by the notion that someone believes their tribe/race/religion/… to be better than mine. There has never been a time and place, nor will there ever be a time of place, where everybody likes everybody else.

Am I the only one here who finds “zero tolerance” for intolerance to be goofy?

Re: I\'m out of here. Bye.

well - ask a moderator to shift it there then /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: I\'m out of here. Bye.

Mirelle, I really hope you reconsider and stick around. Stay out of the Lounge if you must. I agree there were some very unpalatable opinions being expressed there, but the vast majority of people are reasonable. Maybe it's good when people express their prejudices, so they can be shot down, or at least others can realise that there are some scary opinions out there.

Anyway, I hope you stick around. Why surrender a perfectly good public podium to those with bizarre views?

Re: I\'m out of here. Bye.

This whole business is getting very tedious. Aren't there any moderators on this forum? Why didn't someone just read the first few posts and delete the thread, on the grounds that that it contained inappropriate remarks and had nothing to do with boating?
And why do people bother to engage in a long acrimonious argument and then get all huffy and say "I'm off"?
Why engage in a boring drunken argument in the lounge in the first place, why throw in extra countercharges of reciprocal insult and then be surprised if it starts getting rougher?
