Just a quick thread to say that Maxsisi is off to the coast tomorrow. We have enjoyed our two seasons on the Thames, met some brilliant people and have always taken pleasure from the happy nature of those on the river. We are not completely disappearing as we continue to live at Shiplake and will mess about in boats there.

Pics and thread will be posted on Mobo forum. Finally, I wanted to say a big thank you to Mike Butcher at T and K and Andy Bricknell for pulling out all the stops to ensure that the boat was made ready in time.

Good luck Rob. I guess the south coast will be a but like returning home for you. Where will you be based? And I assume the move is by road given current river conditions!...

I look forward to hearing new salty stories over a few beers later this year. :-)

Paul.

All the best Jonesey...we never did get to have a beer but I shall keep an eye out for you rowing (at least I now know which one to aim for!).

Simon

Maybe see you down there. We're on countdown now and off 4 April. Tom from Brooms was down yesterday to sort out/replace failed GPS so the to-do list is getting shorter by the day :)

Thanks to all. I decided that we weren't using the boat at weekends so she might as well be down at the coast, near my Mum and family. We will be based at the top of the Hamble... A lot cheaper!
Wavey... Your thread got me thinking and started this....
Paul, Sonning bridge opens tomorrow so we can finally meet for that beer. She went on a transporter yesterday.
We will miss the Thames and people on it.

It's a small point ,but Sonning bridge has never been closed. It's a point which is taxing businesses like the French Horn, as they are losing custom due to this misconception. The road is closed further North towards Playhatch, not the bridge.

Not the blame Wavey but more ammunition to convince the Missus!
Just for the record, I had AMAZING service from Everyone involved. Mike Butcher at T and K squeezed in a lift the put me in touch with Andy Briknell who dropped everything to remove props etc. Geoff at Boat Transport got on with the move in such a reassuring way as I could not be present. RKMarine sorted her out at the other end, putting all the bits on and and fixed few unseen issues having only had 48hours notice. Finally Anthony Foulkes went and collected her!
I have just got to get away from work now to go and see her!

Might see you down there as well, although we are only heading down mid June for 2 or 3 months. Starting at Ocean Village then will see where we end up from there. Looking forward to it, will be nice to give the boat a blast and a change of scenery.
