Nice steel work.
I am curious as to why you did not make a bend to the back end of the wings to give the anchor more resistance to being pulled through soft sand. Nearly all the top anchors have some form of bend there.
Is the hollow shank air filled to make sure it falls ready for action ? Neat idea but costly in time to achi ve through the lovely seam weld.
Thank you for replying,
Your right they do make that bend don't they, It worried me if that might leaver the tip out.
But the anchor is 48kg.
But I can add anything at any time as its not galvanized or painted.
It looks very good - nice welding! I guess that the balance of the anchor will be critical as to how well it works.
One observation ..... the roll bar seems very large, quite small diameter and attached to plate wings set rather far apart. If you are in a rocky bottom and the anchor lands on it's side with the hoop behind a rock, I wonder whether it will distort the wings? Probably a small chance of any bending ...... very much like the original "Chinese Rocna"!
