Heard that said so many times, and seen the detritus left behind. Here's one, would make a lovely boat.....
Fifie, Berwick Upon Tweed - Ad 110118

I was part of a 1902 pilchard driver (named not as locally, for driving the fish away, but I believe from French 'Deriveur' ).
The last owner took her to Charlestown where he started to cut out the rot. She probably wasn't rotten, but dried out looked bad. I took the legs up for him, found no boat, a pile of metal fittings and nails, and the rotten stump of an engine.

Normally aspirations by people who have little experience of boats/engines, or indeed particularly skilled at DIY tasks.

This is how to be a heartbreaker
Boys they like a little danger
We'll get him falling for a stranger

Not to mention what it'll do to your wallet...

I'm all for the restoration of historic wooden boats as long as I don't have to do it or pay for it. Anyone who's tempted should be forced to watch Leo Sampson's channel about a "restoration" he's doing. If that doesn't do it, they're a hopeless case and will just have to learn the hard way!
