Rather than jump on the recent fuse holders post, I have a rather odd question so am starting a new one.

Is it possible to get a panel mount fuse holder with an integral bulb so that it lights up when the switch is on but not if the fuse blows?

I know I can get switches that have integral bulbs but I would rather stick to the ones I have if possible.

I have tried Maplin and just got a blank look.

I have found one with an integrated LED which is illuminated when the fuse is defective but I want it the other way round so I can tell which switches are on.

Possibly such things are not made and happy to be told that but thought it worth an ask.

Thanks for any replies

Never seen them, but doesn't mean they don't exist.

If you can't find such a thing, why not just mount an LED next to the switch? You can get ones with built-in regulators so they work on noisy 12v without any extra components; some also come with built-in panel mounts so they look neat.

What kind of switches do you have that you can't see if they're on or off? Personally I don't like a glowing bank of LEDs at night, so I deliberately didn't fit any. I used rocker switches which show a red portion of the plastic when on, which is all the indication I need.

If you could get into the wiring on one of those that light up when the fuse blows it would be a simple matter to rewire it to behave like you want, just disconnect the wire connecting the led to the fused output and connect it to your system's negative side (assuming we are talking about a 12V battery circuit).
