Ignition warning noise volvo penta

Hi

Just had a warning noise come on the ignition a low level constant beep not accompanied by any ignition warning lights
Checked oil,coolant all seems good has anyone any ideas what it might be
My 1st thoughts were it was a faulty alarm
Any comments appreciated

Hi

What engine is it ? which engine panel do you have and what gauges and or lights are built in?

this would help to determine if there could be anything else the matter....

for example the 2010, 2020, 2030 & 2040 models of engines had issues with the alarm light panel and so does the md22 range of engines but it does not seem to replicate through all of the engine models.

I had this on the Yanmar at the weekend, a peeping that got gradually louder, in this case with the ignition off. I cleaned out the main multiway connector and it went away, some crud and salt water had combined to make a high resistance path for the alarm lines. The connectors to the thermostat and oil sensor are worth checking as well.
