evening
I took the boat out the other day for a little while after about 15 minutes the starboard ignition failed no lights no dials no echo sounder etc. we carried on to our destination a cove round the next bay went to turn the engine off and it wouldn't switch off,we then went back to the marina. managed to stop the engine by cranking the injector nuts open. I checked the ignition switch by swapping it over with the port engine and that was fine. so was baffed with it and went to the pub as this seemed a far better option than fixing.
started reading up on other kad 42 ignition issues today and came across a older thread informing that the batteries charge gets distributed by the charging unit when the boat is running to domestic batteries and starboard engine. My charging unit has been broken the last 4 weeks could the charging unit being broken cause an issue with the ignition like this . the battery had charge in it to start the engine so would it or could it deplete voltage so quickly.
any advice would be great
regards
Danny
