Am currently working at IFOS and here's a few notes if you're thinking of going.
1. The queues to get on HMS Illustrious seem to die down from about 5pm.
2. The Antartic survey ships are interesting if you're into science and stuff. Loads of marine biology and global warming etc.
3. The Combat display is very loud and teenage boys and big kids will love it, but there's only four displays a day.
4. Don't bother wasting time to queue for HMS Victory unless you really have to, it's open all year round anyway.
5. Bring money 'cos there's loads of maritime tat to buy.
Enjoy.
