If you tow your boat any significant distance I would always advise that you take a couple of replacement bearings or better complete Hubs with you (£45 from ebay for a pair). I would also Join the AA as they will recover you and your boat. As has happened to me.

On our recent trip to Brixham I had to replace my Taper wheel bearing on the camp site on our unbraked trailer. It is actually a very easy job with only a few tools needed.

Here is a little video of the process that might help someone in the future.

Remember to fit the bearing/Hub properly with the trailer jacked up, Tighten the castle nut until the wheel is very stiff or will not spin, Then slacken off the nut until the wheel spins freely and put in the split pin, adjusting the nut slightly until you can get the pin in the hole

What I find interesting is. If your hubs are 4 Inch PCD you get a Grease Nipple. If however you wheels and Hubs are 100 mm PCD you dont get a grease nipple................................. Anyone know why that might be

My Keep in stock set arrived today £44 from ebay delivered..... 2 Hubs, 2 Hub Caps, 2 Complete sets of bearings............. Excellent Price I feel

4 Inch PCD = imperial = uk = sensible folks supply/fit grease nipple :)
100 mm PCD = metric = continental = Nahh why bother with grease nipple :(

From memory the ones with a nipple have a notch on the wheel spigot. Presumably the 100mm ones are newer, cost reduction excerscise on wheels and hubs?
