You'll enjoy Thursday and Friday in the Lakes this week as there is a NATO Excercise taking place.
This has a vaguely boaty flavour as the best place to experience the noise and spectacle is on the lake.
Of course if you don't like it, then you'll not regard it as a spectacle and probably want to stay away.
