A friend has made me a rather nice name plate in iroko to go on my transom. I was going to treat it with Deks Oillie but have not been over impressed with its staying power. Anybody got any suggestions?

Epifanes Woodfinsih or Rapidcoat or Rapidclear are all specifically designed for Iroko and Teak, I have successfully used Epifanes Woodfinish - only three years experience so far of taht but it has beat the pants off a standard varnish.

We used Deks olje (sp?) years ago on a teak rubbing-strake and it was useless, as well as going dark and miserable-looking. There are much better covers, as above.
