and add a speed boat to my asset or liability list would you buy this
would you?

or would you buy something else, needs to look its a poser, be cheap and probably be sold again within a year with relatively little loss

it looks the business, and doesn't sound expensive. What can be wrong with it ? Odd building background might make it difficult to insure ?

It would win the prize for most innovative use of a wardrobe rail /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

More seriously, if you want to sell later for minimum loss buy a mainstream product, go for the waterbourne equivelent of a plain 3 bed semi with magnolia walls.

Lots of choice, Super V, Fletcher, Picton, Global. I would avoid the pure race boats - Ring, Phantom etc- unless you enjoy fettling race tuned engines and messing about with loads of props and settings.

Go for a popular engine make as well, at that age Yamaha, Mercury and Mariner would be my choices.

probably good advice. I am looking to buy something i know i should not buy, for fun and try to lose as little money as poss. Love my Birchwood on the river but like the idea of dumping something in the ocean a couple of times and trailering it home and selling it for as little loss as poss. Its a mad idea but i know i will end up doing it, despite my good friend Byron who I am sure will shout no ....lol

We're all mad, thats what boats do to you.

I buy boats and watersports stuff all the time on Ebay, use it a few times then sell it on. It actually costs very little, and with practice nothing.

Check your prices carefully, buy something mainstream and its nearly free boating. The boat you are looking at has a very limited market, although I can see its appeal.

the more i look at it the more i know i should not and the more it appeals, the screen seems odd, it's a mad idea and i think a fletcher or more mainstream would be the best idea but.....i nearly bought an aluminum 60's sports boat that looked like a cartoon car and regretted not buying it for 2 k ever since lol...Maybe this is the one and I cry for years to come when i cant sell it lol.

Hmmmm what to do

Get yourself a fletcher 15 with about 80hp on the back. Great boat and lots of fun. There is always a deman for them so you should no problem with resale.
