If anybody is good at finding leaks

"Seal every known orifice, pressurise the cabin then spray soapy water at yer boat"

Umm ?

"how about talcom powder puffed around everywhere.will smell nice and can be wrinsed off when finished.hopefully will trace fault to a specific area"

Well I know where it is emerging. I just can't make out where its coming in. Does that make sense? It's appearing as though by osmosis.

Are you just assuming that it's a leak through the hull? If it is getting wet when the boat is high and dry then perhaps it is water tracking from somewhere else. The talcum suggestion may prove this. The other sources of water are hoses to the engine and the water tank - something that has split whilst frozen over the winter?

Just an idea - I was convinced my windcups were causing a vibration noise down the mast until I altered the topping lift tension.

Well I am certain it's not tracking from somewhere else like from forward. I sat and watched it appear - and everything 'uphill' was bone dry. If anything it emerges from aft where everything is dry. No mechanics running or anything like that. I think the stern tube (as discussed on the other forum) is favourite. In other words you are right, it isn't coming in through the hull.

It will be relatively easy to take the prop and stern gland off tomorrow and have a look.

No, I don't think so. It has happened throughout the winter. Today it was dry but then it was a tiny tide and only the bottom foot of TG got wet. Checked the Stern Tube and it's not that either. We are stumpted and that includes the boatyard.
