Ok so it seems I have so so much to learn

so I’ll keep posting all the questions here.
please help me if you can. I really do appreciate it.

there are so many things on this boat I have no idea what they are for.
1 what’s a merchathode monitor.
2 why by the port side air vent at the back is there a blower motor.
3 how do I start this up once I have it together with out it overheating on dry land.

1 what’s a merchathode monitor.

It's a system that's designed to prevent electrolytic corrosion by passing an equivalent electrical current through the metal parts of the boat under water.


2 why by the port side air vent at the back is there a blower motor.

To vent the engine bay of any fuel fumes, so that they don't ignite if there is a stray spark/naked flame. you should run the blower for a few minutes before you start the engine.


3 how do I start this up once I have it together with out it overheating on dry land.

Get some flushing muffs(Google them) and a hosepipe, put the muffs on the outdrive and start the engine.

if there is a water drain at the bottom of the leg it may need a plug to stop the water from running out

How do we know it’s an out drive?

If shaft/prop or jet do not run out of water.
