Sympathy is thin on the ground around here, Aerobat. but it is no fault of yours.
It is simply that some of our esteemed contributors suffer from a disorder called 'PMT' and make a habit of sharing it around.
So, have some sympathy from me. Jus 'cos I can...

And... please don't concern yourself with English not being your first language. Mine, neither, but when I ask in a thick Weegie accent in my sailing club What'llyouhave?" they all understand me perfectly.

We launched today and everything is ok ! Both engines fire straight away , EDC works , no issues . We are more than happy , first evening on the water with our new to us boat !!!!

The boat is a gobbi 375sc what we simply love , as sexy as ist gets ! We moved up from a 2010 searay 240 sundancer

Lessons learned , what i called "persenning" is in fact a canvas cover !

This year we travel nethetlands and western germany , but next year we want to cross english channel and visit london with the boat as a sure trip plan !

This forum is not only a great knowledgebase regarding boating but also a true help in improving english !

Just Don't attempt the crossing near Calais - you may get extra unwanted passengers trying to board your boat

I get the impression that some boatowners on this forum are very tolerant of the failings of marine tradesmen. Would they show the same tolerance to other tradesmen?

I wonder if they would be so forgiving if, after leaving their cars in a garage for a service, they returned to collect it only to find the windows left open , leaves on the seats and wet carpets.

Or if they went on holiday, leaving a tradesmen to complete a job in their homes, they returned to find doors unlocked, windows left open, leaves on the funiture, sodden carpets.

And, if they plucked up the courage to complain, their complaints were met with an indifferent shrug.

Would they instead let it go, in case they ever needed a favour from the builder or the garage?

Garages and domestic tradespeople are ten a penny. And boats are designed to get wet, cars and houses aren't.

Decent marine mechanics are a rare breed, certainly where we are in Spain.

Easily done
I left the window of my van open for 2 days in which we had torrential rain. There were puddles on my drivers seat & in both footwells. I could not dry the seat out so I ended up buying a waterproof seat cover to sit on to prevent my trousers getting wet.
So blamming a professional mechanic for the same thing might be quite justifiable. But one has to think how one might be just as silly sometimes.
I doubt If I am the only forumite to have done it either.
 
People have different standards, I have been involved in the electrical engineering all my life ,on and offshore .so to leave an electrical cabinet open to the elements could be catastrophic . But it must have been done but the guy would be in the wrong job. I also disagree with Pete that marine engines are able to get wet ,it could have been a very expensive mistake bear in mind the engineer made two mistakes the engine cover and the persenning , two is unacceptable.
