Identifying a Mobo.

A motor boat just came into the harbour at well over the 4 knot limit.
The driver objected to me using a torch to try and identify the thing, to make a complaint in the morning.
He was lucky I only had a small torch and not my serious power of a million candles thing to hand.

Not quite as I had not been able to properly secure it at the time.
I heard him coming so had time to avoid being thrown about or even overboard, as I was finishing attaching the mooring lines.

Surely not that hard to identify any boat , commercial or leisure, flybridge or tentboat, from the outline even in dim conditions. Exhaust noise .
Going to guess that if after dark and a bit of hurry probably a commercial boat skipper wanting to get home. ?

Not commercial I know those also to well dressed.

I just timed a local fishing boat going out,it took 3 minutes the one last night was less than 1 minute.
The lockal fishing boats are pretty good about the speed limit

Round here marine traffic only just past semaphore seriously not many have ais.

I tend to take photos of miscreants, preferably making it obvious that I am doing so. Flash at night would send the same message, that they have been seen and recorded.

Flashing a million candles , is a stupid and dangerous suggestion.

Flashing can get you arrested, even at night, especially if you are "utilizing" a candle
