ITs that time of year now where i start work on my boat.

so i removed my perspex windows. one was cracked (which explains the bad leak i had). they are just bolted to the grp with bolts and caps which i cannot identify but would like to renew as well.
also removed the winches for servicing and am going to put a steel plate on the inside of the boat to spead the load and take away from the fiberglass.

So i am after some new acrylic/perspex, bolts and caps things, curtain track/pole clips. Also can someone recommend how i could fix the ladder too and the chips on my rudder..

thanks

(last year i used B&Q "stainless steel" sheets for mounting the ladder, this is the outcome)

despise B and Q products now.

also have a leak through one of these bolts on the main track, but its nigh on impossible to get to them from underneath. wood supports are underneath covering them

They are called interscrews. Companies like sea-screw sell them. Why do you think you need steel plates under the winches? Wonder why you put that whacking great steel plate on the outside for your boarding ladder too! There are different types of stainless steel and if you are going to use it get a type suitable for marine use. B&Q are not renowned for this.

They are called interscrews - several suppliers. When refitting interscrews put a flat stainless washer between the grp and perspex so that when tightened all the sealant is not squeezed out. Don't overtighten or the countersinks will crack the perspex.
My rear ladder is onĺy screwed into the grp! Only discovered this year and decided to add washers and nuts but screws were almost impossible to remove AND were BSW thread so just added nuts and washers. They will never move in practice. My friends ladder just has a plywood pad on the inside with penny washers, very firm indeed. Get rid of the rusty plate and just put plywood pad/pads inside with sealant and penny washers - stainless of course.
Again a large plywood pad under the winches should be more than sufficient, with sealant between pad & grp.
