Hi,

Can anybody identify what make of prop this is. The blades are very loose on their pins and it's creating a lot of vibration, particularly when not under load. The engine is Volvo 2003T.
Also, can anybody suggest any suitable suppliers to provide a replacement.

I also think it looks like a Darglow. You can drift the pins out (undo the retaining allen grub screws first) and ream the blades and hub for new pins. I did this on a similar prop a few years ago.

If you have access to an engineering shop, it might be a lot cheaper than a new prop. Take it apart and get a price - you might be pleasantly suprised.

Very interested in any replies to this one.

I have an identical prop which I bought second hand.

I thought it was in good order until I started up the engine after I had fitted it and the prop rattled like a bag of old bones at low revs (With the boat out of the water)

The shaft on mine is 1 1/8" and the taper is 7-1.

I had the prop shaft and nut made to match the prop by a propeller build/repair company in the north of Scotland. Their main business comes from the fishing industry.

My intention is to remove the prop and get them to sort it and balance it. This is well within the capability of the company.

Cheers

Iain

D'oh!!

Actually both Darglow and CJR deal with the Flex-o-Fold range, so could have been supplied by either of em I suppose!!

I'd have to disagree with Yogi, My old flex-o-fold looked like the one in the picture.
If you can afford the difference in price go for a Volvo three-blade folder. I changed my F-O-F for one and gained two knots for the same revs plus real bite in reverse.
