Help folks,

I volunteered to run a weekend event in Yarmouth and I was thinking of holding a light hearted treasure hunt with a pub in the interval.

Alternatively any other recommendations for walks/tours locally?

Anyone ever run a water borne treasure hunt and got any material / tips / hints / gotchas?

Thanks
Ian

Thanks in anticipation

You need a backup for when it's pissing down. A local pub quiz inlcuded a small bag of mixed up breakfast cereals and we had to identify all 10. We only got nine, i failed to identify "muddles", damnit.

If you have a treasure hunt it should not be an advantage to have local knowledge, if poss.

The idea has distinct possibilities, provided Cornish Maid is actually in the water and sailing. About Easter time perhaps, and Solent-based?

In my absence I was voluteered to do one last year for the local school - a walking one around the village. A couple of questions from the end (catches out those that are clever and check the last question at he start) I asked them to tell me the number of fire hydrants they had passed on the way. While everybody was caught outthe question went down well and a few ran around the course to obtain the answer. I know you are on the water and and a question on fire hydrants is not appropriate but I am sure you could use the principle.

It addition they had a list treasure items to collect on route. However, they could buy upto 5 items of treasure from us at the finish - this proved a nice little earner. Afterall, it was fund raising event for the school.
