Ideas for a new cruising boat please - which won't need yard storage...

Also consider a Moody 33, preferably the mk2 as it's a better layout. Has a separate rear cabin, usually fin but some bilge keelers around. Or the later 336 which is same hull but walk through to the rear cabin. I'm biased of course, but mines a fin.

I prefer the Mk1 layout to the Mk 2 - and I think that you mean the 333 for the walk through version - the 336 is a very different boat. I have seen quite a lot of M33s having osmosis treatment - but I have no idea if that is anything to do with the way they were built or not.

I just had a look. There dont seem to be any for sale! From memory some have open plan forecabin. The parker has a door! If you pm me I think I have some kelt/feeling magazine reviews I can email you.
We have Kelt 29 same as kelt8.5, takes ground better than most as it has a cast slipper that also houses the lifting keel. Rudder has grounding heel. When we put ours on a the hard slip sits on cast bottom with two little cast side supports.

We find her roomy for two, comfy for four. Not easy to find for sale though, we bought her 2 years ago and 4 in uk for sale,
At the time, only two in suitable condition.

Have the magazine write up if your interested

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the message. Is the kelt designed to take to the ground routinely - would you be happy leaving it on a tidal swinging mooring, or alternatively on a creek layup that only floats on big springs? I will send you a pm regarding the write up...
Cheers,
Trev

Yes takes ground well and stays level, the cast iron slipper adds loads of weight low down with keel up
