>So, where do you go for Icom cables, Raymarine cables, Garmin cables etc ? The vast majority of marine electronics cables are unique to the equipment.
All VHF radio cables are standard the Raymarine VHF one is an example: https://www.westmarine.com/WestAdvisor/Coaxial-Cable. All other electronics such a chart plotters are also standard but all are different from each other.
Are you trolling or did you get hit in the head with the boom ?
I've said several times, it's the NMEA data cable, unique to not only Icom, but to this particular model of VHF.
So why not call the MD of Icom, explain what's happened, see what he says, and let us know?
See post #10 Piers, i already called them back and complained. The person i spoke to checked to see if they kept the connector and offered to make a cable, but no-one seemed interested in pursuing my complaint about the poor service.
Well what could they actually do?
They can apologise. They can only say " sorry about that" After that it becomes irrelevant.
They would have no way of knowing who it was that you spoke to & if they did that person could say that you were being rude. Employment law being what it is they could not just sack the person on the spot; only give a caution. Assuming that you are in the right that is. They only have your word for that & i expect that they get quite a few muppets on the line from time to time & have to differentiate between them.
They have offered to solve the problem by making up a cable.
So what do you actually expect from them now?
Nothing, my post was in response to Piers question.
I did expect them to supply a new cable in the first instance.
I did expect an apology when i complained.
I got neither.
>OK, so you're just trolling again.
You know the truth is all pieces of electrical kit on a boat have their own leads so how is the truth described as trolling.
Aside from that, if you look at the bottom of the reply pane you will see "Reply" and "Reply With Quote". If you press the latter the quote you are referring to will be clearly displayed and some of the confusion may disappear.
