I have an ICOM M603, which sometime in the last couple of years started showing the wrong date. The time is correct (at least it is UTC) but the date is months out. I thought it derived this info from the GPS! The position info is correct, and it is synced to an Icom AIS.

I can't find anything in the manual about it. Anyone experienced this or know a solution?

My ICOM did the same and it turned out to be the software in the Navman 5600 was so old that it started counting dates from some reference point that was no longer valid. There was no patch for it, unlike other GPS sets. I replaced the VHF with an independent GPS receiver which fixed that but my Navtex now has wrong dates on it. I'll replace the Navman at some point this winter.

You could buy one of these antennas that receives GPS and transmits NMEA signals and wire that into your ICOM if you can't fix the potter, lower cost than a new VHF as well.

We had the same problem. The issue was the data feed from the Icom GPS mushroom feeding the radio. It wasn’t able to deal with the GPS rollover. A new one solved it and by speaking to Icom directly they did the replacement at a good price.
