We have an iCom M505 with the HM 162E command mic.

This command mic connects to the main unit via a long multi core cable.

A crew member who is stronger than he is wise managed to force the female plug onto the male plug and broke some pins. Hence is does not work any more.

The cable is installed into the boat and I do not want to have to have to remove it to replace it.
The easiest thing would be to identify the male plug and get a replacement - half an hour with a soldering iron in the bowels of the boat and it should be OK.

My problem is identifying the part number, description or spec of this plug/socket type and then locate a supplier.

iCom offered me a replacement cable but were unable to help with the socket.
Also the person I dealt with insisted it is a 10 way plug. In fact it is 14 way with 10 ways employed - a significant difference.

Plan B is to replace the male on the cable and the female on the handset - if anyone can suggest a supplier for 10 plugs and sockets suitable for this application.

Thanks

IMHO, you are underestimating the difficulty of reliably soldering a small, 10, or 14 way connector to a multi-core cable in-situ. ( If you're a real expert here, then I retract ).
For myself,I would bite the bullet, get a new cable with plug attached and replace it. It can't be that difficult surely, using the old cable as a pull through if possible.
Just a thought as an alternative, the Icom mike is weatherproof to a very high standard. You might consider the easier task of soldering the wires and making a permanent connection with, perhaps, some sort of cover for the mike.

has the extension cable pins broken or command mic or both, i would tend to get the extension cable as it is easier to pull thru, and attach, i have the same and the plugs at the commandmic are quite delicate to locate and connect up, i always take my time in getting them aligned.

once you have the receipt for new cable you can pass it on to the crew member. if the command mic plug is broken then it might be one sourced and fitted by yourself.

bulgin buccaneer is the obvious place to start.
