Hello all,
i hope everybody is having a nice day!

I am looking for some help ,
I am currently upgrading all my boats Nav equipment exchanging very old raymariene for B&G equipment which runs through the NMEA2000 which im sure you are all aware! im just at a little bit of a loss as to how to get the gps info into my icom IC-M411! do i just use a T piece and dropper cable and strip some of the wires and terminate them to wires on the radio?

any insights would be greatly apricated as i cant seem to find any info my self!!

You can't connect nmea2000 direct to nmea0183. If you aren't using an nmea0183 GPS receiver and want to use a source on the nmea2000 you will need a convertor. If your plotter has nmea2000 and nmea 0183 ports then it could connect direct by nmea0183 and act as a bridge. Depends what the other kit you are putting together is. More info would be useful.

Icon 411 does not have 2k port, we used output from AIS which sends 0183 output to radio, all else on board 2k

hey thanks for the reply! the plotter will be a B&G Zeus3 i was just looking a bit better into the manual and it says it has 0183 out as part of the video input on it! so i guess i have to get an adapter for that and run it to the radio

Page 19 in this manual says the 183 nmea connections are one of the sockets . Is this the same as your manual.Just need to get the appropriate plug and use the correct terminals . If you already have this plug in use in this socket then identify the nmea terminals in it and add your nmea 183 to use them. Find a friend if you do not have a small soldering iron..
