ICOM HH VHF charger

Hi

My ICOM IC-M31 hand held VHF has stopped charging.
Not sure if it is the charger or the battery that is duff.
Has anyone around the Deben/Orwell area got a charger that I could try the hand set in before I make a guess and buy the wrong thing?

I think it is the charger as the indicator light flashed yellow for an instant then nothing.
It should flash red if it is a battery fault.
The charger was on board Sirenia when she took the plunge a few years back.
It has worked up to this year though.

Hi, I have a charger that you could borrow only I am a bit away, I dont mind posting it down if you return it and cover my postage costs.

Not ideal but incase you dont get sorted!!

I have one Cllive, and found that it is easy to get an intermittent loss of contact between the cradle and the radio, sometimes having to wiggle the radio to get a charge light to show. It seems the contacts are very sensitive to any oxidisation.

If you want to try mine, the cradle is screwed to the boat and I can phone Ipswich Haven to release the keys to you or you can meet me there sat pm

I have wiggled, thumped etc. with no luck.
