I've warned you about chewing on the antenna tip while plodding on in the flybridge. Bad habit mate.

My ICOM IC-M23 hand-held has the same problem but only on one channel so far as I can see.
This has been a very good piece of kit, purchased 6 years ago and seen quite a lot of use. Hope it's not giving up the ghost.

All channels or just a few.
We have had constant interference on several channels locally. 74 and 80 and one or two others.
Sounded like data.
Even turning up the squelch to full it would not scan without stopping on a particular channel.
Take it home and try indoors, could be something on the boat ?

My problem is channel 12 in Plymouth

So after playing with the HH all day its stopped . so having played with the volume and sqwelch buttons if i used the volume button to alter the sqwelch , the noise stopped and the busy sign disappeared, all now working .

Hmmm strange! Maybe part of the squelch was stuck internally and has now been freed. Glad you've fixed it
