Hello,
We have an Icom IC-M601 VHF on board. After we bought the boat, I found a CommandMic stashed away. I've tried plugging in the CommandMic into the two sockets on the back of the VHF, but the Mic unfortunately doesn't show any signs of life. I've tried the Mic on a friend's boat and it works fine on theirs.
I read the VHF manual and it goes on about being careful not to connect other mikes to the sockets as this could cause damage. Is it likely that someone somewhere along the line has managed to damage the CommandMic sockets on the VHF and this is why it doesn't work?
Anyone have any ideas of how I might be able to coerce it into working? Or is it an Icom repair job at no doubt considerable expense?
