Hi Folks,

Recently switched from Power Boat to Sailboat, I had completed Power Boat 2 and ICC for the PB, my question is in order to take the boat abroad, do I need to compete another ICC in Sail?

Cheers!

I've spent three summers in France and never been asked for nav qualifications. Who knows after the B-word, though?

This is one Brexit question easily answered, mainly because Brexit has nothing to do with it. France does not require coastal qualifications for visiting skippers. It does require a qualification, such as a CEVNI-endorsed ICC, for many, but not all, inland waterways.

Gibbo: I suspect (i.e. don't know for sure) that the main difference between power and sail ICCs is that the former can specify under or over 10m boat length, whilst the latter does not. No doubt someone will correct this if wrong. The RYA will be able to tell your for sure, although there may be a member-wall to the appropriate page.

My, now long expired, ICC is power only.
Got on the back of my Diver/Cox qualification when I did the canals (in a sailboat and before CEVNI)
You don't need an ICC for X Channel trips including Seine up to Rouen or Rance (a non VNF Waterway) up to Dinan.

Thanks, yeh he ICC was for up to 20 metres so that should be ok but will give the RYA a call.
