Where's the cheapest place to take a ICC and Cevni qualification? I feel that I dont need to be trained but I need the piece of paper.
Join the RYA, get an instructor to give you a dazed kipper assessment ( not the training just the course if you are that confident) RYA will issue certificates.
I am afraid there is no such thing. The Dayskipper Certificate is the result of a 5 (or more) day course, there is no short cut, direct assessment or exam.
There is however a direct assessment for the ICC practical, only takes a couple of hours if you don't need any training. Prices vary depending upon if you want to do it on your own boat or a school boat. We do CEVNI Assessment for £20, its basically a multiple choice paper.
As already said join the RYA if you are nor already a member, certification is then free.
If Southampton is any good to you email me at the address below for dates, details and price
Pity stormforce won't run an instructors course over consecutive weekends, not all of us can take a week off!
A fun way to get the ICC without taking a week off work is the 2 day powerboat RYA level 2 course.
A weekend zooming around in a high powered RIB is worth the £200 purely in entertainment value.
As I understand it the CEVNI is an endorsement on the ICC so you'll need that first. A fun way to get the ICC without taking a week off work is the 2 day powerboat RYA level 2 course.

The PB 2 will allow you to apply for an ICC up to 10 meters power only. It does not give the option of an ICC sail.
