I wonder how much longer LIBS can survive?

I think it's only fair that the Southampton Boat Show should be held in London (Excel) in September. With GMT +2, we should all have a great time anytime.

Having it in Southampton is just too far south.

Now, we need something boaty in January to stop feeling grim.

Dinghies
Windsurfing
Kitesurfing
Rowing
Diving
Ribs
Workboats
Fishing
Inland waterways

Wouldn't it be great to be able to see the lot under one roof at one time?

No - I don't do most of those :)

Buggroff! I like being able to walk there and back! :D

GMT +2? Have I missed something? Are we finally going to ignore the whingers in the North and put our clocks onto Europe time, where they should be?

Clearly you do not regularly have to get up at 6am to drag your sorry a*** down into London and do a day's work! It's not only northern whingers that believe the clocks should stay exactly where they are!

Hello all.

Just to clear one thing up, LIBS does not make a loss and we are now busy planning next year's Show.

As we have said before, if you have suggestions on how to make the 2013 Show more appealing to sailors please feel free to comment on this thread or any of the other threads on this subject.

Suggestion for Boatshows. Get rid of the moron doing the spinnaner lessons, it was impossible to talk to anyone when he was using the fan and the loudspeakers. I talked to the stands in the large area affected and you should have had formal complaints, most were saying they will pull out if it happens again.

On the Show performance front it might be making a profit but as you know two yacht manufacturers have already pulled out because of the transport issues regarding the clashing dates with the Frankfurt Show next year. If the visitor numbers keep declining more will pull out because of the annual decline of show sales, the stand costs are so high that it won't be worth it.

Spinnaner?

Frankfurt?

Two pulled out? Nobody has committed yet so how can they pull out?

I love this place, keeps me entertained for hours...
