I was shocked at 40p litre diesel at Hythe today.

Have I missed something as I am sure that it was 29p last time I filled up?

Is this the start of the loss of tax concessions?

:-(

Thisnk that's bad? We paid circa 45p a couple of weeks ago and that was 'private boat price' on the Broads!!

There was a tax increase on 1st of September by 2.4p a litre to 'futher reduce the potentials for oils fraud'.

That coupled with the rises in oil prices has pushed the price up, as you've noticed.

t'ain't that much at Pwllheli, although it has gone up recently. LPG remains stable at 34p/ltr. Removal of derogation and oil prices are going to make my ol' gas powered Windy look good value (he says optimistically!)

Don't know what you are complaining about we've been paying 40p all season on the east coat in some places. Probably 'cos we're nearer to Europe than you are.

50p not far away

I was talking to the depot Manager for my local council last night ,he told me that the Welsh purchasing consortium which bulk buy goods and fuel for several councils have just paid 50p a litre for red and that was on quantities over 10000ltrs!!! So Swansea is going to be higher again as they supply the Marina as well.

Re: 50p not far away

Sparkes now 46p / litre. I probably should have asked whether the bertholder rates applied before filling up...
