I now update the B.C.Y.A. (Bristol Channel Yachting Association) website, I have uploaded loads of stuff associated with the Bristol Channel and I am endeavoring to make it the first site to visit for info on the B.C ! but I'm always hungry for fresh content! to that end please send me any copy you may have or come across to: tonybarebones@hotmail.com or why not visit the site www.bcya.org.uk suggestions, errors or amendments are welcome.

Good news

The $64,000 dollar question though, is, when will we get a new blue book? They are like hen's teeth. I put myself down for one from wigmores in penarth the day they said they'd have them, still keen! :) somebody from bcya was there asking about advertising space, so I hoped it was imminent!

Well I never did! did you?

Well I never did! did you? it was me... Tony and I just happen to know that it's being worked on now, I'll find out some proper info and get back to you ok, you never know it just might be ready for Santa's sleigh! Ha Ha

Fair question... it's all to do with Admiralty copyright...

Fair question... it's all to do with Admiralty copyright by all accounts, the more we publish the more it costs! and not knowing the take up we were reticent to commit to a large volume! however we are producing far more on the next edition so I'm told! Tony

The Blue book is much better than a little black book. Well as mine is empty it is better than that!
The BCYA Blue book is pretty much all you need to navigate and passage plan in the Bristol channel. It contains loads of useful information about all of the ports including contact details and pilotage.

Now that sounds all together more exciting than my little black book. I would love to get my hands on one. Is there a waiting list to put our names on?

Well how about that! Would you let us know when it's on it's way as I bet Gareth will have forgotten that I'm topping his waiting list by now!! :)

As others have said I'm sure the print run could be trebled at no risk to bcya. Everybody i know wants one.

as members of the BCYA i dont think Ilfracome YC has ever been offered copies (unless not passed on by sec.) im sure i could sell at least half dozen to our members if they were made available. why not do what the tide table sellers do and ask all membering clubs to pre book

I have today added a couple of items to the B.C.Y.A. web site... so there.

ps if you have an interesting item regarding water orientated activities in the Bristol Channel I am able to upload it to the site just send an e mail to: tonybarebones@hotmail.com

Would it help if Clubs sent you estimated requirements of the "Blue Book "?
How much did they cost last time? Its so long ago I cannot remember!
Have you an updated price?

I am canvassing our members so we can snap them up as soon as they are available.

This little gem is probably second in popularity to "50 Shades of Grey " on the Bristol Chanel!:D
