All, I had a hard drive crash about 3 weeks ago, and I lost all my sailing photos except those on Photobucket.

If you have any of Full Circle or any events where we have bumped into each other, please let me know.

Cheers All,

Jim & Lynn

Jim, it might be easier for you to inspect my hard drive, seriously. I confess to being a hoarder of photo's and every single one, including those from your wedding are in there somewhere. Either on the laptop or PC. Unfortunately I am seriously rubbish about organising files so it may take some time to find them all, but obviously you'll get anything I can find
Wedding pic's I am happy to report, are in a file of their own, so that one is relatively easy, but if you're after others that might prove harder to find

Stable Doors and horses ... but ...

It is now vital that you take backups of your computer data and store somewhere else. I have 300Gb of files/photos that are backed up on a 1Tb USB drive (£80 from Staples when I got it) which is stored at the in-laws. My Network HD (that is backed up) went down last week - and although I can access the data on it (removed the HD and mounted in a PC) I was happy in the fact that I haven't lost much in the way of data as I have the backup.
Most drives come with backup software that will snapshot your data and backup in the background - so there isn't much excuse!!

I have a USB hard drive to which my /home (I'm a Linux user - that's where all user data files live) is automatically mirrored at 2am every day. It's an insurance policy against mechanical failure of the main HD and against whoopsbuggerit moments. I mirror to another portable HD, stored elsewhere, about once a week.

Thanks you for the kind lessons in data backup managem, ent.

I am afraid to say that I have not heard anything new today.
I was just being a numpty who kept forgetting to do it.
So there.

I still needs photos of interest though.

Thats a bit of a contradiction, I thought you said you needed photos of you?

I might have some photos of a East Coast mud hopper hiding under a beaver hat from earlier this year. Not a pretty sight mind you.

Any good Jim?
I don't have your e-mail address, can you save them from here?

I will have a look Jim, might have one or two from the time you were in Rothesay with Pete, but it will be next wk before I get a chance to look.
