If you're after I/2" and 3/4" NPT share the same TPI as BSP (14) and as they're tapered I'd have no worries about interchanging them.

Many are available in stainless from people who sell goodridge hoses to rally car drivers etc. Often used on oil coolers and the like.

I needed a half inch NPT relief valve for an American calorifier. Used a BSP one in the end. Works fine.

That seems over the top.....Were they really unusual items??? We use this company for the oil rigs which are well endowed with american
equipment. I am sure there will be similar places near you.
