No, not for the white stuff!

1. Can someone point me in the direction of a manufacturer/supplier of wood veneers. I'm after wide strips (2' 6') of the stuff in either mahogany / walnut etc. You know, the stuff that surrounds instrument cowlings on cruisers.

2. Also after waterproof carpet, the stuff with the rubber backing which comes in garish colours like aquamarine, etc. for the cabin and deck area. The stuff I have currently is bright bluey green and wafer thin with a blach polypropylene backing. It almost looks washable.

Many thanks, in advance.

On both counts, give Toomer & Hayter a call, sorry can't find the number but they have a web site. Do a Goggle.

How much veneer do you need? I have a number of 8x4 sheets of mahogany veneer with a rather nice grain. The veneer is less than 1mm thick and on a fibreous backing that allows you to bend it around tight curves without cracking. It can also be glued with contact adhesive. It is a quality Dutch product.

I used it to refurbish some water stained mahogany ply panels (see MBM Nov 01 for article).

If you want to dicuss this further pse PM me.

Nick,
thanks for that. Is it the highly glossed finish, you know like the veneer on car dash boards, which looks like plastic! I need it to be very highly polished almost glass like finish and then I'll mount it on 3 ply marine.

Can you help?

regards
