I met Laurie Weller in Leigh last night,,,,,

He was the owner of BOATING SCENE on the A127 near Basildon in the 80's.
I found Laurie an excellent chap to do business with, Boating Scene was the only boat dealer I know of, to consider part exchange. I think he also built the Mirage 2700 and the Leisure equivalent. There are still several of his boats on the east coast they are easily recognisable. I believe he went into building GRP bodies for BT vehicles. I hope he is still thriving.

Yes, he did have manufacturing of the Mirage/Leisure range, and once invited me in for talks on developing a Deck House saloon moulding for the Mirage 29, but it was too late, and the company folded soon after.
I can assure you, he looked in fine shape for his age.
I part exchanged my Corribee for an Evolution 25 from them, it went very well.
