I love the smell of diesel in the morning

Having recently bought a new diesel engined car, I have taken to starting the engine in the morning and standing at the rear of the car to breathe in those wonderful diesel engine exhaust fumes. If I close my eyes, I can imagine I've just started my boat engines ready for a fun weekend on the water. This puts me in a mellow mood and really sets me up for the rigours of the day ahead.
Is this common behaviour or do I need to seek help?

No Mike,

You only need to seek help when the smell of starting the boat reminds you of setting off in your car to spend a day at work !!

Mike do you normally run just one engine on the boat? I thought not, therefore you really need either a twin engined car or a his and hers and start em both at the same time. Also presume you're doing this in the comfort of a nice warm garage to replicate SoF temps? No?

Praps you need to get out more. A long weekend in a Teignmouth hotel should provide a swift cure.

No, I don't think you need any help at all. But you should sling some fenders out of the windows to make sure everyone else knows what's going on before engaging the autopilot.

This is an excellent idea. I shall install central heating and a bath in my garage. Then I can stand in a bath full of warm water in my bikini for genuine SoF effect

I am sorry but you are all stark raving mad.

The best sound a boat can make is when the engine gets killed and she sloshes through the water at (infinate)mpg.

The smell of diesel, to the mad house the lot of ya /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
