Would have been when he checked in at the Marina, by the way not sure it was Palma that was a guess, but it was mallorca. Maybe the Guardia where there at the time or the Marina snitched on em.
If he had produced his passport and acted all english like not being able to speak a word of the lingo he would have got away with it.
