I know a quiet anchorage

I wonder how much urine is put in the sea by that lot.

A bit more than your average public swimming pool I reckon.
Once we were parked next to this yacht that was pumping so much effluent into the sea that you couldn’t eat or drink anything on the boat it was so disgusting. And that was in port:disgust:

No problem in the rainy windy north of England

1....its never calm enough to park close to other boats

2....it’s too bloody cold for swimming

Every cloud and all that :D

Today on the Côte d’Azur was stunning, scorching hot, I even swam (mind you my heart did a double beat when I first got in:()

How do you manage to stop the dog jumping in all the time?:D:encouragement:

He had a little paddle ;) but the constant rocking of the boat didn’t impress him:( and this is just the beginning of summer

I’m always amazed at how despite the close anchoring that I have never seen a dispute break out. We are back down in Beaulieu a week Wednesday for a couple of weeks and I can’t wait.

Wine keeps everyone chilled?

I’m out tomorrow....I’ll take some pictures of the anchorage to compare :D

It would look stupid if they jumped up and down with rage. Half of them are naked:nonchalance:

Im Mallorca no one cares in tights anchorages, but when there is loads of space and some tw** decides to anchor on top of you ... hmm ...

Always "first come first served".
When someone anchors too close, I always say in a cool voice - "I think you are too close" - making them responsible.
Most will then move on - of course there are others that don't.

And then there are the yachties that come in after dark and anchor close - we got hit in Santa Ponsa one year.
SWMBO heard a bang - by the time we got up, the yachtie had let out a load of chain and pretended that it wasn't him.
Following morning we challenged them - they knew it was them - a charter boat.
I chose to do the repairs myself - easier that way - we could put the matter behind us and enjoy the rest of the cruise.
But it is a bit of "dog eat dog" out there.

MapisM wouldn't understand - more than three boats in an anchorage??????? :D:D:D

I spent the day at anchor in Villefranche on Thursday and I was surprised at how relatively quiet it was. Season a bit slow to start this year?

Looks like the pics in the Var not CdA ?
Porquerolles ?

Right as usual (but this is the CdA!)
I’m in the port now hoping that someone will serve me a pression. And tomorrow will embark on a voyage but I will save it for a new thread :)

As promised....no one for miles.

No. When conditions are perfect on the water there is nowhere better. No matter where you are:)

true, no one for miles, good for you!

otoh, I've not had the first swim of the year as water temps I'm told are still rather cool (around 20C)
maybe next fortnight :p
air temp is annoying though hitting 32-35C already and I've got lots of work work to do :(

nothing's perfect

The biggest lobster I have ever seen, and caught, was in the Victoria marina on Guernsey. We let it go...
